One Of Us

Just one of us can put a thousand to flight
And two of us can send the legions fleeing
Just one of us can put a thousand to flight
And two of us rout evil principalities

O there are many of us here
Exalting the name of the Lord
And in His name we declare
Our victory in spiritual war
We bind the powers of the air
By wielding the Word as our sword

Yep. Because we are soooo powerful!

I was just going to ask the same thing!!! What song is this.....?

It reminds me of a little ditty my daughter brought home from school in kindergarten. We were supposed to practice singing the song with our kids in preparation for the upcoming "Earth Day" celebration. It went like this:

We've got the whole world, in our hands
we've got the whole world, in our hands
we've got the whole world in our hands
We've got the whole world in our hands

Now, my daughter was confused, being a product of Sunday School and accidently kept singing "He's got the whole world in His hands". I told her to just keep doing that version, as, after all, WE'RE NOT GOD. (Irony is completely lost on 5-year-olds).

Yeah, this one is pretty crazy. I remember being about 13 years old and our church would sing this for about 10 minutes with instrumental solo in between while the congregation members would march around the sanctuary military style. I never understood what it meant, and maybe still don't. The best reference to the Word I can find is,
"How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?" Deuteronomy 32:30 and the other is in Leviticus, but this song is not in context to them at all.

Oh, no! I remember this song! Groan! Sheeeesh. I can hardly remember the ones that went with it. There were motions that went with this song and everything. I was kind of intimidated by this song because I didn't feel like I had the "power" to do it. I felt so left behind by everyone else that had 'achieved' their spiritual goals of acquiring this power. I'm glad I got out of that.
